The grey bush chat is a species of passerine bird found in subtropical and tropical moist lowland forests and montane forests in the Himalayas in India, Nepal and Bhutan as well as parts of southern China and Southeast Asia.
Grey bush chats are robin sized birds as common in the hills as robins are in the plains. The upper plumage of the male is grey in winter and black in summer. The female on the other hand sports a brownish plumage.
