"It is good to know our universe. What is new is only new to us.” -Pearl S. Buck
Our cities are growing rapidly pushing some avian life outskirts in search of their preferred habitats. Others have simply managed to adapt to us. We are lucky to share our cities with these creatures and wake up every morning to their chirping. Some of the sounds we hear in the background daily we just take for granted. We need not travel to jungles to look for them, they live amongst us, we just have to stop and look around.
The red-whiskered bulbul is a passerine songbird of the bulbul family. It has a regal upright black crest, red whisker marks just below its eyes from which it gets its name and it also has red vents.
To me the red-whiskered bulbul appears like a warrior wearing a crest helmet and red face paint!
