Flycatchers of the Sinhagad Valley -3
But I'll tell you what hermits realize. If you go off into a far, far forest and get very quiet, you'll come to understand that you're connected with everything- Alan Watts
The red-breasted flycatcher is a small winter migrant from Eastern Europe that prefers deciduous forests especially near water. The Sinhagad valley with its stream or rather puddles of shallow water offers it just that! Adult males are of course easy to identify with their orange-red bibs. Identifying females/juveniles can be a trifle tricky at times due to their plainer appearance.
