For me its one of the nearest places outside of the city to just hone my clicking skills.
Kavdi Pat is a small hamlet on the banks of the Mula Mutha river and can be reached after a short drive through farmlands. It has a narrow bridge that almost acts like a bund and holds back river silt and water hyacinth thereby giving it an ecosystem for wetland and marshland birds.
The villagers spread cow dung cakes on the river banks to dry. These cakes called "upala" are used as cooking fuel. The presence of insects and grubs in the cow dung cakes attracts a lot of birds like pied bushchats, plovers and wagtails that feast on them.
Well all I can say is that without the cow dung there would not have been a plover and without the hyacinth there would not have been a beautiful green background. Its all about focussing on the subject and let everything else just be a blur....isn't it?
