*Flycatchers of the Sinhagad Valley - 3*
*"The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it and to foster its renewal is our only hope."- Wendell Berry*
Today the word "Verditer" is mainly used to describe a bright turquoise songbird the Verditer flycatcher, which breeds in the lower Himalayas and spends its winters southwards in the plains and lightly wooded forests of India.
These flycatchers are known to forage above the canopy level, descending only to the stream in the Sinhagad valley to quench their thirst and have a quick dip.
