The Black-naped monarch is an azure-blue bird in the family of monarch flycatchers. They inhabit forests or woodlands and their native range extends from India across South East Asia up to the Philippines.
The male "Monarch" takes his name rather seriously wearing a black nape patch on his head and a thin black gorget (band that adorns its throat), whereas the female is content without the adornments!
